Summary: The Boys’ Town In-Home Family Services (IHFS) program works to reduce risk factors that contribute to child abuse and neglect while increasing family protective factors. These services are designed to improve family functioning and resiliency in several ways. The programs focus on increasing both formal and informal supports in the family ecology, encouraging nurturing and caregiver – child attachment, strengthening parenting skills and educating on child development.. The program uses a strengths-based, individualized and holistic approach in serving each child and family. Family Consultants work closely with families to identify their needs and to develop solutions to overcome their challenges.
