CHRISTIA LI ROBERTS
Following election to public office in November 2014, Christia Li Roberts has served as the Martin County School Board representative on the Children’s Services Council since December 2014.
Mrs. Roberts received her degree in Economics from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. She has worked locally as an Investment Advisor since 1980 helping individuals, families, companies and non-profit organizations organize, understand and implement financial decisions and strategies to meet their goals.
Over the years, she has been appointed to a variety of local government boards and committees and volunteered with numerous non-profit organizations including Friends of the Lyric (founding member, Treasurer, Grant Administrator), American Business Women’s Association(President), Big Brothers Big Sisters of Martin County (Board Member), Martin County Industrial Development Board (Board Member),Braille International (Board Member, Treasurer), City of Stuart Code Enforcement Board (Board Member), Florida Master Naturalists – St Lucie Chapter (Treasurer), Martin County Board of Zoning Adjustment (Board Member), Martin County Preservation/CARL Task Force (Member), Martin County Administrator Search Committee (Member), Martin County Library – Chautauqua South (Initialization Committee Member), Stuart Main Street(Event Volunteer) and in our local public schools as a volunteer (Reading Coach, Tutor). She is currently serves on the City of Stuart Local Planning Agency, Arts Council of Martin County Board, and the Martin County Head Start Policy Council and is an active member of the Garden Club of Stuart, Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (State and District Boards), and Wekiva Youth Camp(Treasurer and Program Leader).
Christia Li married native Floridian Paul Roberts, father of three Martin County High School graduates, in 1987. They have five grandchildren and numerous other children who consider them their grandparents.
